Travel copywriter FAQs

A travel copywriter crafts marketing copy for travel and tourism businesses. I create words that engage your ideal customers, rank well on search engines and—most importantly—sell your travel products. Think website copy, blogs, emails, brochures… the lot. My secret? Writing in a way that speaks directly to your specific customer type, be they luxury baby boomers, digital nomads, budget conscious families, whoever. My job is turning readers into bookers and making your brand stand out in a crowded market.

Better content, more trust, more enquiries, more bookings. Simple as that. The travel industry is incredibly competitive—when you think about it, everyone’s basically selling the same thing: a seat on a plane and a room in a hotel. Your branding and copy are what make you stand out and ultimately, what sells. People actually enjoy reading about travel because it’s their escape, their adventure planning and their leisure time. It’s not some boring product, it’s fun. They’ll happily spend hours researching before booking, so your words matter more than in most industries. In such a saturated industry, good travel copy builds the trust that turns browsers into bookers. Plus, as more generic and samey AI-generated content floods the internet, having expert human-written copy gives you an edge. And trust me—customers definitely notice it.

My journey started with 10 years as a travel consultant for both big brands and luxury boutique companies. When Covid-19 brought the industry to its knees, I lost my job—a blessing in disguise, really. I used that opportunity to reskill in SEO and digital marketing. As travel restrictions lifted in 2022 and the industry came back with a bang, I focused my copywriting exclusively on the travel sector. Combining my experience with newly-learned skills just made sense.

You could, but the results won’t be as good. Of course, I’m biased—but the truth is that AI content tends to sound generic and customers can often tell when something’s written by a robot. It won’t reflect well on your brand. You could also waste precious hours going round in circles on ChatGPT: no ages prompting, giving feedback, fact-checking and then editing everything. There’s the risk of plagiarism, too, since AI pulls from existing web content. ChatGPT can’t replicate real travel industry experience and human copywriting skills, in my humble opinion.

Having spoken directly to your customers every day for 10 years means I truly get them—better than most writers ever will. My personal experience visiting 50+ countries and selling countless travel products gives me real-world expertise that shines through in my writing. I understand your customers, products, destinations and competitors inside out. This allows me to create copy that genuinely resonates with readers and drives enquiries. No need to explain industry terms or customer psychology to me—I’ve lived it for nearly my entire working life.

Not quite—though there’s plenty of overlap. Travel copywriting focuses more on persuasive, sales-oriented content designed to drive specific actions like bookings or enquiries. Think of it as the difference between a sales pitch and a travel magazine article. Content writing typically delivers informational pieces like destination guides or inspirational travel stories. Most clients need both approaches, and my background lets me handle either depending on what you’re trying to achieve. The lines do blur, which is actually a good thing for your marketing.

Of course! Beyond copy, I create engaging travel content like destination guides, travel blogs, itineraries and feature articles. This content builds your brand authority, boosts your search rankings and keeps travelers coming back to your site. Whether you need practical “what to pack for Thailand” guides or inspiring “hidden gems of the Amalfi Coast” storytelling, I’ve got you covered. Everything I write represents your unique brand voice—not some cookie-cutter content that sounds like everyone else in the travel space.

My client roster includes tour operators, travel agencies, hotels, airlines, cruise companies and tourism boards across the US, UK, Australia and beyond. From small boutique agencies running unique experiences to major travel brands serving thousands of customers—I’ve worked with over 60 travel businesses of al

Pretty much everything travel businesses need: website copy, landing pages, blogs, email campaigns, product descriptions, brochures, ad copy, video scripts and advertorials. Each piece serves a different purpose in your marketing puzzle—whether attracting new visitors through SEO, nurturing leads with perfectly-timed emails or turning browsers into bookers with compelling product descriptions that make people want to pack their bags immediately. The travel buyer journey has many touchpoints, and I can help with all of them.

It depends on your project—there’s no one-size-fits-all answer here. My packages start from around US$309 for ad copy, US$629 for email campaigns or product descriptions and US$1139 for SEO blog packages. Every project gets a custom quote based on word count, research needed, turnaround time and complexity. All rates include two rounds of revisions plus thorough proofreading, so there are no surprise costs down the line. Think of it as an investment rather than an expense—good copy pays for itself in bookings.

Payment couldn’t be simpler—I accept all major currencies including USD, GBP, EUR and AUD so you can pay locally without getting stung on conversion fees. Bank transfers and card payments work perfectly for most clients. For those in the crypto world, Bitcoin (BTC) and USDT are also welcome. My standard terms involve a 50% deposit to get started with the remainder due when you’re happy with the final copy. No complicated contracts or confusing payment structures—just straightforward business.

Hotel copywriting is one of my specialties! Creating room descriptions that go beyond “spacious and comfortable,” crafting dining experiences that make mouths water, and highlighting the little touches that make a stay memorable—it’s all in my wheelhouse. After years in the industry, I know what makes guests book direct instead of through OTAs. My approach focuses on what makes your property special while highlighting benefits that actually matter to potential guests. The result? More direct bookings and fewer commission payouts to the big booking platforms.
